Torr Internation to exhibit at the
2008 SVC Annual Technical Conference

The Society of Vacuum Coaters (SVC) is a non-profit technical and professional organization whose vision is to be the global source for learning, applying and advancing vacuum coating, surface engineering and related technologies.

The SVC annual Technical Conference and Exhibit provides a global forum that encompasses a wide array of scientific techniques, processes, and products. To compliment its extensive Technical Program, the Chicago event also features a symposium on Cleantech Energy Conversion and Storage, along with Hot Topic Sessions on Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Applications of Vacuum Processes and Coatings, and High Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering (HIPIMS).

Other technical sessions include: Large Area Coating, Optical Coating, Vacuum Web Coating, Plasma Processing, Tribological and Decorative Coating, Emerging Technologies, Process Modeling and Control, and Heur?ka! Post Deadline Recent Developments. The SVC TechCon also offers 29 short courses in its highly regarded Education Program. The TechCon features the only exhibit dedicated to vacuum coating and related technologies. This two-day event is open to everyone and includes Innovators Showcase presentations and Live Demonstrations.

Hey all Torr Employees –

I am proud of you. You have carried my name around and across the world. From burning sands of Arabia to frozen lands of Siberia, and from and beyond the great walls of China, across the Caspian Sea, Danube River, Baltic Sea, English Cannel, over the lost world of the Atlantis, to the New World of Americas, my buddy Christopher discovered. In American land you have gone East to West, North to South, from the City of the Great Apple, you have swept many lands... to the City of Angels, and from many Canadian Cold Scientific Centers, to the hot tropical countries and states of the South.

“Vacuum” that I discovered is nothing. You people have done a lot with nothing! As Shakespeare later wrote a play “So many ado for nothing” is true. You Torr employees are great!

This year you have done greater than ever, and if during these remaining months of this year, you finish the current four projects and get them out of the door, you have done more than twice in any year in the past!!! I am sure next year will be even better. I expect a better party, a bigger celebration, inviting customers and vendors from all over. Enjoy your party!
